NU Online News Service, June 8, 4:45 p.m. – The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Inc., Toronto, says members approved Vincent Tonna as chairman Thursday at a business meeting in Toronto.
Tonna is president of The National Life Assurance Company of Canada, Toronto.
CLHIA members also approved Andre St-Amour, the president of RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada, Toronto, as chairman elect.
The new board members elected are Andr? Gaudreault, senior vice president for life insurance at AXA Assurances Inc., Montreal; Gaetano Geretto, president of Gerling Global Life Insurance Company, Toronto; Robert D. Scott, president of CNA Life Insurance Company of Canada, Kitchener, Ontario; Donald A. Stewart, chairman of Sun Life Financial Services of Canada Inc., Toronto; Stephen A. Taylor, president of Lutheran Life Insurance Society of Canada, Waterloo, Ontario; and Dan Thornton, chief operating officer of Co-operators Life Insurance Company, Guelph, Ontario.
CLHIA represent 75 insurers that account for more than 90% of the life insurance and health insurance in force in Canada, according to association figures.
