Fidelity Introduces New Educational Program for Advisors

The Wealth Advisory Institute was developed by Fidelity and features insights and resources from it and other asset managers.

Fidelity Institutional has launched the Wealth Advisory Institute, a comprehensive wealth management educational and training program designed to help firms and their advisors grow, the company said Tuesday.

The offering was inspired by Fidelity research that found investors are increasingly looking to their advisors to help with what matters most in life, according to the company.

Fidelity research also found that advisors who spent at least 10% of their time on professional development more often reported an increase in the number of clients they served than those advisors who spent less time, Fidelity said.

The Wealth Advisory Institute was developed by Fidelity and features insights and resources from it and other asset managers. The program is available now through the Fidelity Managed Account Xchange (FMAX) and Managed Account Solutions (MAS) platforms.

The program includes a combination of tools and resources, including a curriculum that advisors can customize based on where they are in their journey to becoming a holistic wealth manager, including a guided set of modules.

Also featured is a “landing zone” with resources aligned to each module that includes research papers, videos and podcasts from Fidelity and more than a dozen asset managers, including American Century Investments, BlackRock, Capital Group, Goldman Sachs, Invesco, Janus Henderson, MFS Investment Management, Pimco and T. Rowe Price.

There are also live and on-demand workshops facilitated by Fidelity Institutional’s practice management and consulting team and other Fidelity subject matter specialists, along with personalized, firm-level support for rollout planning, platform training and adoption measurement.

“No other industry program provides this type of educational framework which inspires advisors and helps them drive client engagement and, in turn, grow their books of business,” according to Gary Gallagher, head of Investment and Managed Solutions for Fidelity Institutional.

“The Wealth Advisory Institute has a dynamic, interactive experience that offers actionable goals and next steps for advisors and the support to help firms and advisors every step along their journey to become holistic wealth managers,” he said in a statement.

Fidelity Institutional serves more than 13,500 wealth management firms and institutions that oversee 70% of the U.S.’s wealth, it said.
