As it moves toward finalizing its purchase of TD Ameritrade, Charles Schwab is adding two new board members Marianne C. Brown and Gerri K. Martin-Flickinger. The move will raise the number of women on its board to four out of 15 total members as of Aug. 1.

Brown currently is on the board of Akamai Technologies, Northrop Grumman and VMware. She was chief operating officer of Fidelity National Information Services’ global financial solutions group from 2015 to 2019.

Martin-Flickinger is chief technology officer and an executive vice president at Starbucks. Earlier, she was the chief information officer of Adobe, VeriSign, Network Associates and McAfee Associates.

Other women on Schwab’s board are Joan Dea, founder of Beckwith Investments and previously with BMO Financial Group and Boston Consulting Group; and Paula Sneed, chairman and CEO of the consultancy Phelps Prescott Group and a former executive of Kraft Foods.

“We are very excited to welcome Marianne and Gerri to our board of directors,” said founder and Chairman Charles Schwab. “They bring decades of leadership and expertise in operational efficiency and technology two areas that are vital to our company’s ongoing success and strategy.

The company also says Roger O. Walther, the chairman and CEO of Tusker Corp. — a real estate and business management company — and will retire from the Schwab board at year-end; he has served on it since 1997.

Sneed will take his place as chair of the Compensation Committee.
