Orion Advisor Solutions is updating its turnkey asset management platform and rebranding some businesses, a move that includes Orion Portfolio Solutions (formerly FTJ FundChoice). It says the tech rollout will take place in several phases.

“We began this process by asking ourselves how we could better fill the gaps advisors still encounter in their businesses … [and] recognized the potential to present a more competitive offering to a marketplace demanding a next-generation platform experience, featuring the technology, investment strategies, and hands-on support for advisory firms of all sizes,” according to Orion CEO Eric Clarke, who was a keynote speaker at the recent Wealth/Stack industry conference.

The first phase of new technology includes financial planning tools developed by the software maker Advizr (which Orion bought in July) with client details like recent login activity, contact preferences and household data; advanced reporting features; an account dashboard; and tools for submitting and checking work requests.

Orion says the next phase of its updates will encompass resources for streamlined proposal creation, tax-efficient trading, transparent billing, next-generation client experience and more.

“We’re redefining the meaning of ‘turnkey’ with this update,” said Cory Kendall, executive vice president for Orion Portfolio Solutions, in a statement. “Our new TAMP technology lets our users meet the complex needs of their clients at a speed and sophistication we couldn’t have imagined before combining our efforts under one brand.”
