United Capital Launches Mobile App for Investors

The app "gives clients the tools they need to understand their financial lives and gives advisors a dynamic way to engage their clients untethered to geography. The future is bionic,” says United Capital's Duran.

United Capital said Wednesday that it has enhanced its GuideCenter web portal to offer a mobile app so that clients have direct access to their advisors and can track their financial goals.

“Consumers spend up to five hours a day on their phones,” said Joe Duran, founder and CEO of United Capital, in a statement. “They want access to their advisors anywhere, any time. Advisors who want to stay relevant to their clients need to be in their mobile devices.”

The GuideCenter app, Duran added, “gives clients the tools they need to understand their financial lives and gives advisors a dynamic way to engage their clients untethered to geography. The future is bionic.”

Mike Capelle, United Capital’s co-founder and chief platform officer, added in the statement that the app “embraces the strengths of GuideCenter’s mobile platform to keep advisors informed if anything has changed in their clients’ lives and to see any requests for changes to clients’ financial goals,” and “reflects the evolving expectations of a digitally savvy market.”

The GuideCenter app allows clients to communicate with their advisor and receive video messages, as well as request changes to financial planning assumptions “on demand.”

Clients can also use the app access their MoneyMind and HonestConversations profiles to track and “score progress towards their intentions and priorities,” United Capital said, as well as to securely upload and access digital copies of important documents.
