Former Treasury Official Campbell Joins Duff & Phelps
Campbell will advise the firm’s clients on changes to financial policy, including tax reform and adjustments to Dodd-Frank.
Chris Campbell, the former assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury for financial institutions, has joined Duff & Phelps as chief strategist, the global advisory and compliance consulting firm announced Monday.
Campbell — who also was majority staff director to the Senate Finance Committee and as legislative director to Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah — is based in New York.
Campbell will focus on advising the firm’s clients on important changes to financial policy, including tax reform and adjustments to Dodd-Frank.
At Treasury, Campbell was responsible for coordinating Treasury’s efforts regarding financial institutions legislation and regulation, legislation affecting federal agencies that regulate or insure financial institutions and securities markets legislation and regulation.
He oversaw policy and program areas that included critical infrastructure protection (cybersecurity) and compliance policy.
He received an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Business Management and a bachelor’s from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in political science.

Campbell joins the likes of Ken Joseph, formerly head of enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and Nicole Lamb-Hale, a former assistant secretary of commerce in the U.S. Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration.
