SMA Managers of the Year Announced at Envestnet Advisor Summit

Investment Advisor and Envestnet | PMC on Thursday announced the winners of the SMA Managers of the Year for 2016 during a ceremony at Envestnet’s Advisor Summit in Chicago. 

For the past 12 years, Investment Advisor has partnered with the experts and analysts at Envestnet | PMC to identify the best separately managed account managers that advisors can use on behalf of their clients. The winners are chosen for their consistent processes and long-term success, as well as their focus on client service and tax efficiency. 

To be considered for the award, the strategy must be available on PMC’s research applications and have at least $200 million in assets. Managers must have at least three years of experience running the strategy.

In addition to the winners in each category, one manager was selected from the winners as the overall SMA Manager of the year. This year, that honor goes to Harding Loevner. 

“We’re very honored,” John Parsons, partner and manager of institutional business development, told Investment Advisor on Thursday. “We have worked many years with Envestnet and enjoy a close relationship. We believe when you do the right things good things follow.”

Envestnet Chief Investment Strategist Tim Clift and Investment Advisor’s Danielle Andrus presented the awards. The winners will be featured in the July issue of Investment Advisor, and look for video interviews with the winners on ThinkAdvisor.  

The winners of the 2016 SMA Managers of the Year are:

U.S. Equity Large Cap

  • Brown Advisory—Large Cap Growth
  • Schafer Cullen—High Dividend Value Equity

U.S. Equity Small or Mid Cap

  • EARNEST Partners—Mid Cap Value
  • Tributary Capital Management—Small Cap Equity

International or Global Equity

  • Harding Loevner—Global ADR

Fixed Income

  • Tom Johnson Investment Management—Intermediate Fixed Income

Strategist

  • JAForlines—Global Tactical Solutions
  • Russell Investments—Multi-Asset Class Strategy

Impact

  • Boston Common Asset Management—International Equity SRI
