A guide supervises the shabazim and oversees the overall operations and quality of services in the home.

A “sage” is “a local elder who acts as a coach or mentor, facilitates the development and continued growth of the self-managed work team of shahbazim and serves as their trusted advisor,” the group says.

A Green House home is supposed to look like a 10-person version of the homes in its community, with a private bath and bedroom for each resident; a locked medicine cabinet in each bathroom; a hearth area with an open living room, dining room and kitchen; a dining table that seats all elders and caregivers; ceiling lifts; a fenced outdoor space and many windows.
