Four tips to build your online presence

There are great opportunities for advisors to reach their clients and prospects through e-media. Below are four ways you can build your online presence.

  1. Put the emphasis on visitor experience, not traffic. Traffic is useless if you can’t convert it into paying customers. A website with just 500 visits per day but optimized for visitor experience can bring twice the income than an un-optimized one with 10,000 visits per day.
  2. Suggest related websites in your own website’s information area. That will bring some traffic.
  3. Use sitemap services on Google, Yahoo and MSN. Not only will it provide you with invaluable server and website data, but it will get your pages in their index faster.
  4. Don’t be a copycat. Don’t write news or posts just to have something in Google. Nowadays, duplicate-content filters are continuously evolving, and even if you gain something on the short term, you will lose it later. Be innovative.
