One of the most effective ways to get staff to use the technology that a firm already possesses to its full advantage is to appoint an “internal evangelist”–someone at the firm who believes in the system, uses it in highly effective ways and can show others how to get the most out of it.
At multistate wealth management firm LarsonAllen, an increased workload and limited staffing resources made it imperative that those advisors who weren’t using the firm’s automated rebalancing technology get on board. Firm Director of Operations Chris Johnson reviewed the system with these advisors and showed them how they could use the technology to do what their teams used to do for them, in less time. The result: “They love using the system because they see it’s easy and helps them do their job faster,” says Johnson. “They’ve told me that they wish they had started using it when we bought it a year ago.”
