Eastbridge: Worksite Vendors Expect Growth

Most worksite benefit carriers, brokers and administrators expect to increase the number of new groups they acquire this year.

Researchers at Eastbridge Consulting Group Inc., Avon, Conn., have published that finding in a summary of results from a year-end survey of about 120 carriers, brokers and independent plan administrators in the worksite market.

The percentage of survey participants who said they expect to sell more cases in the coming year fell to 83% for the latest survey, from 93% a year ago.

One-third of the participants in the latest survey who expect to add more groups in 2009 predicted growth would be significant.

About 10% of the participants said they expect new group growth to be the same in 2009 as in 2008, and 7% said they expect 2009 new group growth to be lower.
