A large insurer is changing the way it handles support for customers with employer-paid and employee-paid benefits.

Genworth Financial Inc., Richmond, Va., says it will be combining service for voluntary and employer-paid accounts through a new program called “Encompass.”

One toll-free customer service number will handle calls for all lines of coverage.

The program also will offer employer Web-based administration tools, the ability to handle multiple payroll frequencies, age-banded rate tables, streamlined underwriting and automated confirmation letters, Genworth says.
