Thrivent, Employees Announce 2004 Contributions

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the people affiliated with it contributed $10.2 million to charities in Minneapolis and Appleton, Wis., in 2004.[@@]

Thrivent, Appleton, gave $3.5 million in community grants, and its employees raised $1.1 million for charity.

A separate gift-matching program raised $5.6 million from Thrivent employees, retirees and board members, the fraternal benefit society says.

Society members raised more than $13 million for Minnesota and Wisconsin charities through a fund-raising program of their own, and Thrivent employees and society members donated about 1.7 million hours of their time, Thrivent says.
