We reviewed IDS along with Investigo in our usual way. I invited a group of advisors to join a Web-based demonstration and conference call led by the PMS vendors and they spent about two hours showing us their features and answering questions. After the demos, I circulated a Web-based survey asking the advisors what they liked and disliked. I also interviewed the participants.
Doing these reviews with the help of a diverse group of advisor users is the best and fairest way to report on independent advisor technology. Advisors are so different from each other in their needs, capabilities, and opinions about how to do things right that no one person can see all the angles. I am grateful to the advisors who over the past four months have generously given their time and opinions to me so that our readers can benefit.–Andrew Gluck
