NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com)–Kellner DiLeo Cohen & Co. LLC hired Katalin E. Kutasi as manager of the market neutral firm’s distressed and high-income portfolios.

Ms. Kutasi most recently worked as senior vice president and director of high-yield, distressed and private securities research at Alliance Capital Management LP, New York. She oversaw a team of 15 research analysts providing information to high-yield, bank loan and private placement investment portfolios at the US$512 billion money management firm. She also served as Alliance’s senior restructuring professional.

She said one reason for her decision to join Kellner DiLeo was a desire to get out of the large investment management firm environment and into a firm with a “more entrepreneurial spirit, someplace where the contributions you make can have more of an impact.”

Kellner DiLeo has about US$530 million in assets under management in four investment strategies: merger arbitrage, convertible arbitrage, distressed and high income, and special situations.

“We expect Kate to be a tremendous asset to our firm,” said Kellner DiLeo Chief Executive George Kellner in a statement.

Added Chief Investment Officer Steven Cohen, “We are very proud to have such a prestigious member of the investment community join our firm.”
