An Indianapolis company has added new features to a set of Internet-based tools that advisors can use to help clients get their affairs in order.[@@]

Connect2A.Com L.L.C., Indianapolis, is introducing a private communication service, a document storage service, and guest member and guest client options.

Insurance agents, lawyers, accountants and other parties involved with estate planning can use the communication service to avoid depending on the public electronic mail system.

Clients can log into the private system to send messages to advisors, and advisors can use the system to send messages to clients. The communication system will send ordinary, public e-mail messages to clients when the clients receive private messages, Connect2A says.

The document storage tool will give advisors a system they can use to share copies of important legal documents, such as wills and trust documents, with clients. A standard Connect2A membership now includes 250 megabytes of storage space.

The guest member and guest client features give advisors the ability to grant access to clients’ financial information to the clients’ relatives, trustees and other advisors. To use the guest member and guest client options, advisors must get written or electronic permission from the clients, Connect2A says.
