Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, says the military contingent at the Hartford Ski Spectacular will include 30 soldiers who have injured in conflict abroad along with 20 of the soldiers’ relatives.

Other participants at the ski event, which will be held in December in Breckenridge, Colo., will hundreds of other people with disabilities.

Disabled Sports USA, Rockville, Md., began organizing the event 17 years ago to demonstrate the value of sports in rehabilitation. Hartford began sponsoring the event 11 years ago in part to promote the value of opening the workplace to people with disabilities.

Activities at the ski event will include skiing and snowboarding classes, classes for instructors and a corporate challenge race, Hartford says.
