NU Online News Service, April 26, 2004, 12:17 p.m. EDT – The recent thaw in the economy helped first-quarter results at Clark Consulting Inc., Barrington, Ill.[@@]

The company, which sells executive benefits and other services, is reporting $14.3 million in net income for the latest quarter on $84.7 million in revenue, up from $11.8 million in net income on $84.6 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2003.

The company’s services include executive benefits sales.

Renewal revenue at the executive benefits unit fell to $14.1 million, from $18.8 million, but revenue from new sales increased to $12.7 million, from $8.4 million.

New sales were up partly because one big, $9.3 million case closed during the first quarter, Clark says.
