Milliman Acquires Focus Solutions, Forms Tech Unit

NU Online News Service, Nov. 3, 2003, 3:48 p.m. EST – Milliman USA, Seattle, an actuarial consulting firm, has acquired Focus Solutions Inc., Fort Washington, Pa., a company that sells XML-based systems for automating the financial services sales process.

Milliman will be using its existing technology operations, Focus Solutions’ employees and Focus Solutions’ goal:technology tools to form a new software and technology services unit, Milliman Straight Through Enterprise Platform Solutions.

The Milliman STEP unit will help insurers capture application data, generate illustrations and quotes, process new business, assess risk, manage claims, and administer tasks such as billing, collections and commission processing, Milliman says.
