NU Online News Service, Sept. 5, 2003, 12:53 p.m. EDT – A unit of American International Group Inc., New York, has opened a 200,000-square-foot data backup center in Forth Worth, Texas.

The center will provide data recovery capabilities for many AIG affiliates, AIG says.

AIG also hopes to use the center to expand the sales of data backup services through its American Technology Enterprises Inc. unit.

AIG already operates a similar data backup center in New Jersey.

Companies that use the Texas data center can reach it through several different Internet connections and telephone networks.
