NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com)–Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. hired Irvin Goldman as part of an expansion into prime brokerage.
Mr. Goldman, formerly managing director in fixed-income sales and trading at Credit Suisse First Boston, was named president of Cantor’s debt capital markets and asset management divisions. In his role as head of asset management, he will work to build business with asset managers through capital-raising assistance, prime brokerage, clearing and trade execution in a seamless, integrated offering, according to a company statement.
Cantor also recently expanded beyond its inter-dealer fixed-income trading operation into a separately run high-yield bond sales and trading group. Cantor was one of the harder hit firms in the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.
