NU Online News Service, June 5, 2003, 11:44 a.m. EDT – The Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa, has added patient information features from go2dental.com Inc., Saratoga, Calif., to the Web site for members of Principal dental plans.
One feature, a fee look-up tool, lets patients search a database of “usual, customary and reasonable” procedure fees by ZIP code.
A second feature explains common dental procedures and dental insurance concepts, and a third feature lets patients submit specific questions to go2dental.com dentists.
Principal is adding the features because it believes members of dental plan can use consumer information as much as members of major medical plans do, although dental plan members tend to get even less information than medical plan members get, according to Bruce Hentschel, Principal’s dental product officer.
