Aetna To Use Standard Transplant Center Credentialing Forms

NU Online News Service, April 8, 2003, 5:34 p.m. EDT – Aetna Inc., Hartford, has agreed to adopt the standard transplant center credentialing forms developed by the United Network for Organ Sharing, Richmond, Va., and the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Arlington Heights, Ill.

Transplant centers and other health care providers have complained over the years about the need to fill out separate forms to participate in each managed care company’s provider network. The forms ask for similar information, but providers say the formats are usually different enough that staff people end up spending excessive amounts of time answering the questions.
