California Blue Shield Hires Optum

NU Online News Service, Sept. 3, 10:43 a.m. – Blue Shield of California, San Francisco, has hired Optmum Inc., Golden Valley, Minn., to help support Blue Shield’s new Lifepath Advisers service.

The new California Blue Lifepath Advisers program will give plan members guidance about health, work, education, legal and financial concerns.

Optum provides a 24-hour nurse advice service. The registered nurses who run the advice line can help callers decide whether they need to seek professional medical care as well as giving them general medical information.
