NU Online News Service, Aug. 9, 2:35 p.m. – Mid Atlantic Medical Services Inc., Rockville, Md., a managed care company, is reporting $12 million in net income for the second quarter on $450 million in revenue, up from $7 million on $368 million in revenue for the second quarter of 2000.
Total enrollment held steady at 1.8 million, while commercial health maintenance organization enrollment increased 10%, to 832,300.
The company generated an average of $7 in net income and $250 in revenue per member, up from an average of $4 in net income and $204 in revenue per member for the comparable period in 2000.
