Charles Schwab's thinkorswim platform encountered now-resolved technical problems with its desktop Monday afternoon, a company spokesman said.

"A brief technical issue on the thinkorswim desktop application was resolved earlier. Clients' access to thinkorswim web and the thinkorswim mobile app was not impacted. We apologize for any inconvenience," the spokesman told ThinkAdvisor by email.

Customer problem reports showed up on outage monitoring site Downdetector, where users reported issues under the TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab banners.

And on X, formerly Twitter, user posts indicated thinkorswim, which Schwab acquired when it purchased TD Ameritrade, wasn't working.

Downdetector logged as many as 998 user problem reports for TD Ameritrade shortly after 2:30 p.m. Eastern daylight Time, although the numbers had declined to 342 about 15 minutes later.

Most Downdetector users reported login problems, although some cited trading and online brokerage issues.

More than 200 Schwab customers reported problems by 2:40 p.m., but those numbers also declined in 15 minutes. Most users, again, reported login problems, while some cited trading issues.
