Citi Taps UBS Exec for Family Office Group

The move is part of the global banking company's focus on ultra-high-net-worth clients and families.

Citi has named UBS executive Richard Weintraub to lead its Family Office Group for the Americas, part of the bank’s focus on ultra-high-net-worth clients and their families and businesses.

Weintraub, who is scheduled to start as group head May 7, is currently an executive director at UBS, working in the company’s Global Family Office, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Richard brings a deep understanding of the family office industry, strong relationships and a proven capability to deliver institutional solutions to family offices,” Ida Liu, head of Citi Private Bank, and Hannes Hofmann, head of Citi’s Family Office Group, said recently in an internal memo announcing the appointment.

Weintraub previously led new business for a cross-asset sales and trading entity at Goldman Sachs and was a founding member of the firm’s middle market sales and trading team, which covered institutional family offices and other clients, the memo says.

“We are excited to work closely with him to grow our Americas family office business,” said Liu and Hofmann.
