Fidelity Launches Advisor Large Cap Opportunities SMA

The managers will invest in a combination of high-conviction ideas from a selection of Fidelity portfolios.

Fidelity Investments expanded its separately managed accounts offerings Monday with the new Fidelity Advisor Large Cap Opportunities SMA.

Benchmarked to the S&P 500, the SMA provides firms, RIAs, and managed account platforms a quantitative approach to finding top fundamental, actively managed investment ideas from portfolios across the core, value and growth spaces.

SMA portfolio managers Tim Gannon and Michelle Hoerber seek to provide long-term capital growth by investing in a combination of high-conviction ideas from a selection of Fidelity portfolios, the company said.

The Fidelity Advisor Large Cap Opportunities SMA is available through Fidelity’s managed account platform, Fidelity Managed Account Xchange (FMAX) and will also be available on the Envestnet platform this fall, Fidelity said.

The new SMA will allow advisors to deliver professional investment management with a more tailored approach through direct ownership of securities, according to the company. Other key benefits of the Fidelity Advisor Large Cap Opportunities SMA include a convenient way for investors to directly own underlying securities, with a clear view into their holdings; portfolio customization; and better tax efficiency, according to Fidelity.

Fidelity announced in December 2019 that it would launch Fidelity Advisor SMAs in 2020 with five equity models. The financial services company now offers eight Fidelity Advisor SMAs, according to its website.

The financial services firm last expanded the lineup in March 2021, when it introduced FA Health Care SMA and FA International Growth SMA.
