BNY Mellon’s Pershing Unveils NetX360+ Advisor Platform at Insite

Pershing kicked off the conference Wednesday with a visit from the Dallas Cowboys mascot.

BNY Mellon’s Pershing introduced a redesigned NetX360+ advisor platform and announced several enhancements to its NetXServices integration portal at its annual Insite conference in Grapevine, Texas, on Wednesday.

NetX360+, available now, gives advisors a “more streamlined user interface and more intuitive experience,” the company said in a news release hours before the event’s keynotes, where the new technology is expected to be discussed.

Key features include: hyper-personalization based on individual user profile and usage patterns; machine learning-driven search results for faster access to relevant data; new data insights to support client needs and business growth opportunities; and integrated learning via a digital adoption platform to help users achieve faster proficiency with new features and tools.

Heading into its annual conference — which it kicked off with an appearance by the Dallas Cowboys mascot and cheerleaders — Pershing said it had $2 trillion in assets and millions of investor accounts.

New Features

“Experience and efficiency are front and center in this latest round of updates,” the firm said as Insite 2022 kicked off. The new advisor platform and integration portal enhancements were “optimized to deliver a more intuitive, seamless user experience, from the advisor experience to operations and business processing,” it said.

NetX360+ “works with you as a personal digital partner — the more you engage with it, the more it will provide a curated experience, including insights tailored” for each advisor, according to Tim Foley, managing director, technology.

“We have an incredible wealth of data that we’re using to make the experience smarter, more personalized, and more intuitive,” he said in a statement. It’s “extremely powerful, spotlighting better ways to serve your clients and targeted opportunities to grow your business.”

The NetXServices Integration Portal launched in 2021. The portal now provides a simple way to access all integration capabilities, including what the firm called “one of the fastest account openings in the market.”

Pershing’s Integration Hub, meanwhile, “delivers bi-directional, real-time data synchronization with a growing network of integrated third-party providers,” the company said. Its “build-once, deploy-many framework significantly reduces” the time needed for clients to complete new integrations, it added.

The portal also was updated with a complete application programming interface (API) set that includes two new options designed to provide real-time data access and convenient self-service.

Streaming APIs “enable firms to dynamically update their platforms,” while asset movement is offered through digital authorizations for payments and asset transfers from Pershing to third-party brokerage accounts, the firm said.

“We are committed to delivering the innovation and efficiency that digital-first wealth management firms need in today’s consumer-driven environment,” said Ram Nagappan, CIO at BNY Mellon’s Pershing.

The firm’s API set gives firms “direct access into our full clearing and custody platform, with a suite of integrated solutions for managing real-time orders, workflow, activity, rules, approvals and reporting,” he added.

This Week’s Focus

In addition to the new tech, Pershing said it was using Insite to focus on what it says is the “bright future of financial advice.”

“The next generation of talent has the power to reshape our industry,” said Ben Harrison, co-head of wealth solutions at Pershing. “The support of today’s leadership is key to driving future progress,” he said in a statement. Pershing is committed to empowering potential through education, community connection and professional opportunities for students and current professionals to expand and grow.”

As part of that commitment, the firm said it is doubling the size of its Insite Student Experience this year to include more than 60 university students. The program was “designed to connect the next generation of financial services professionals with learning and career opportunities,” Pershing noted.

Participants were nominated by faculty leaders from 12 top U.S. CFP-certified universities and colleges. More than 100 students have participated in the program to date and they have “benefited from access to leaders at wealth management firms, industry organizations and influencers.”

Organizations that have participated in the program include the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning and the Foundation for Financial Planning, according to Pershing.

Meanwhile, on the diversity front, Pershing said the Diverse Leadership Community will reunite at Insite this week for “open, game-changing conversations, workshops and networking“ driven by Pershing’s Minority Business Enterprise Council (MBEC), Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) and Next Leadership Forum (NLF).

MBEC is made up of Pershing clients who head successful minority-, woman- and veteran-owned businesses, and was designed to “amplify opportunities in the financial services space, and highlight the strength and perspectives of leaders motivating positive change within the industry,” the firm said.

WIN is a network of Pershing female employees and allies around the globe that the company said “inspires diverse financial professionals to thrive inside and outside the workplace.” And NLF is made up of emerging leaders from wealth management firms across the U.S. who Pershing said are “poised to deliver the future of financial advice.”
