2 Found Dead; LPL Network Firm Employee Arrested

Police suspect Ramy Fahim of Pence Wealth Management of killing a co-worker and his roommate.

An employee at LPL Network RIA firm Pence Wealth Management has been arrested as a suspect in a double homicide that occurred the morning of April 19 in which one of the victims was his co-worker.

At about 6:30 a.m. that morning, Anaheim Police Dispatch “received reports of a possible assault in progress occurring inside an apartment in the 2100 block of E. Katella Avenue” in Anaheim, California, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

“APD officers responded to the location where they discovered two deceased adult male victims,” according to the police.

Ramy Fahim, 26, of Irvine, California, was also “located inside the apartment, suffering from a minor injury,” according to APD. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was then “interviewed by homicide detectives who ultimately placed Fahim under arrest for the murder of the two victims,” APD said in a news release dated April 20.

“A knife believed to be used in the murders was also located at the crime scene” and Fahim’s vehicle was located nearby and seized by APD as evidence, APD said.

Fahim was booked at the Anaheim City Jail without bail pending a scheduled court appearance, according to APD. His arraignment was scheduled for Friday in Orange County Superior Central Court in Santa Ana, an APD spokesman told ThinkAdvisor.

One homicide victim was identified quickly as Jonathan Andrew Bahm, 23, who was a resident of the apartment where the killings occurred. APD later identified the second victim as Griffin Robert Cuomo, 23, and pointing out the victims were roommates.

Detectives confirmed Fahim and Cuomo were co-workers but declined to provide any additional information or possible motive for the killings.

Cuomo served as a marketing/media assistant for Pence, according to the firm’s website.

Fahim served as a research associate at Pence, according to his LinkedIn profile.

A “ramy fahim,” meanwhile, has a separate LinkedIn profile that identifies him as a financial advisor at RIA GWN Securities but with no other additional information. That person has a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority report on its BrokerCheck website that says he’s been with GWN since 2004 as an advisor and broker.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to those impacted during this difficult time,” an LPL spokesperson told ThinkAdvisor on Friday when asked for comment.

Pence, GWN and “ramy fahim” did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
