Retirement Changes in Secure Act 2.0: Hopkins, Levine & Treichel to Share Insights April 13
Don't miss this informative webcast about the Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2022 at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
ThinkAdvisor will host an informative webcast about the Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2022, or Secure Act 2.0, at 1 p.m. ET on April 13.
The event’s speakers are Jamie Hopkins, managing partner of Wealth Solutions at Carson Group; Jeffrey Levine, chief planning officer at Buckingham Wealth Partners; and Bonnie Treichel, chief solutions officer of Endeavor Retirement, a consulting firm for retirement plan sponsors, advisors and service providers.
The Secure 2.0 bill — which passed the U.S. House of Representatives on March 29 in a 414-5 vote — includes some 50 provisions. “The April 13 webcast will help advisors distill” them down to the ones that are most important, so they can “deliver actionable guidance to clients,” Treichel says.
ThinkAdvisor’s April 13 webcast will look at issues such as:
- How and when is the required minimum distribution age changing?
- How does the proposed legislation affect penalties for missing RMDs?
- What changes are likely to affect Roth IRAs?
- What other reforms are expected for catch-up contributions, qualified charitable deductions, automatic enrollment and automatic escalation?
- How will Secure 2.0 help employees making student loan repayments?
“One aspect of Secure 2.0 that is a significant opportunity for advisors and for small employers is expanding coverage for those that don’t currently have access to a plan,” Treichel explained.
Plus, the bill includes “a lot of other major initiatives where advisors will be able to add significant value to their clients — both individual wealth management clients and also retirement plan clients.”
