MetLife Hires Chief Marketing Officer: Personnel Moves
The company has also named a technology chief for a newly acquired managed vision care unit.
MetLife has hired Michael Roberts away from The Vanguard Group to be an executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
Roberts will succeed Esther Lee, who is retiring in June.
Roberts previously was the chief marketing officer at Vanguard’s retail investor group. He has also worked for Bank of America’s merchant services business and in positions at Alix Partners, Citigroup and EY.
He has a bachelor’s degree in music from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in voice from Boston University.
In related news, MetLife has named Dan Dunkers a senior vice president and chief information officer at its Versant Health unit.
MetLife acquired the managed vision care company, based near Baltimore, in September 2020.
Dunkers has been vice president of information technology at Johns Hopkins Healthcare.
He has also worked for Kaiser Permanente, CareFirst and Nationwide.
He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a master’s degree in business from Johns Hopkins.

CBIZ, a business services company, has hired Anne Long to be president of its life insurance solutions division.
She was previously senior vice president of business development at Lighthouse Life Solutions. She has also been the CEO of NFP Insurance Services, and she has run her own insurance consulting practice.
She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Temple University, and she is chair of the board of Temple’s College of Liberal Arts.
She holds the retirement income planning professional designation.

Ethos — a life insurance provider that recently attracted $300 million in capital from investors — has hired three top-level executives:
Jennifer Liu will be the chief product officer. She previously spent 17 years at Google.
Anan Kashyap, the new chief financial officer, was the CFO at Poshmark.
Troy Thompson, the new chief actuary, was working for Legal & General America.
Ethos has also named Dave Zhang chief strategy officer. Zhang was the company’s vice president of finance and strategy.
