6 Ways to Make Your Agency Stand Out

A marketing communications specialist has some helpful ideas.

A pandemic is no time to fade into the wallpaper. It’s now more important than ever to stand out from the competition.

Here are some ideas about how to do that.

1. Respect your clients and prospects, and have integrity.

Consumers appreciate companies that appreciate them, and consumers want to buy from brands they can trust. New York Life, for example, does a great job in its TV and print ads of establishing its company values in its ads as well as talking about the importance of life insurance.

2. Stand for something.

One simple way to show what you believe in is to donate a percentage of your earnings to a cause you care about, such as feeding the homeless or funding lung cancer research. The specific cause is your own choice, but you can use it to help your business stand out in a positive way.

3. Have a digital presence, with unique content.

It’s 2021. At this point, you need to have a website or, at the very least, a blog. If you aren’t savvy with web design or creative content, hire people to help you. Similarly, if you don’t know how to create content quickly, you need to hire someone to help you with that.

Frequently putting quality content out on your website can increase your brand credibility. It can also help your agency rank higher in search engine results.

4. Use multimedia.

Maybe you already tweet about on Twitter, or post on Facebook.

If so: Try adding images to each post.

If you already use images, try adding livelier images, and videos.

Researchers have found that social media users interact more often with posts that contain images or videos when compared to interactions with purely text posts. Consumer interests have evolved recently to focus more on GIF images and 3D images rather than traditional pictures.

5. Distinguish between customer experience, or CX, and user experience, or UX.

CS is “all the interactions customers experience with a brand over time,” while UX, “refers more narrowly to the user of a single product or service,” according to CX Pilots, a customer experience solutions company.

Remember how important customer reviews are. One simple way to see how you’re doing with UX is to look on Yelp and other review sites.

6. Hire a digital marketing or public relations firm.

An experienced firm can help you increase your efficiency and increase the number of consumers you reach.
