Next Wealth/Stack Event for RIAs to Be Virtual

The inaugural event, led by Josh Brown and Barry Ritholtz, drew more than 700 advisors and others to Scottsdale, Arizona, last fall.

Due to pandemic-related health and safety concerns, the second annual Wealth/Stack conference will be taking place online rather than in person.

Barry Ritholtz and Josh Brown of Ritholtz Wealth Management launched the RIA-only event last fall in Scottsdale, Arizona. It drew about 750 attendees and featured VIP speakers like Joe Duran, the founder of United Capital, which is now Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management.

“We were excited to go to Carlsbad, California, in two months. But given the current environment, we feel we cannot deliver the experience that people loved at Wealth/Stack last year, and we want to protect our audience,” said John Swolfs, CEO of the Inside ETFs conference.

The virtual event is set for Dec. 1-3 and will include industry executives and others focused on innovations in the RIA channel of the wealth management industry.

“It will include sessions going on for about five hours per day, with multiple sessions going on at the same time,” Swolfs explained in an interview with ThinkAdvisor. “We are working to finalize the agenda and want it to be as timely as possible, and as helpful as possible for advisors working from home.”

The Wealth/Stack team is looking into ways to share technology demonstrations, as well as tech-focused panel discussions, he added.

“We’re excited to reach our advisor audience through a virtual event this year,” Swolfs said. “It’s all about the community coming together.”

There should be events early in the day focused on health and wellness and some in the evening that are entertaining. “We want to have fun networking events for folks to join,” he explained.
