Foundation Backs Child Bereavement Outreach Effort With PDF Click Comp
For every download of a free children's e-book, the foundation will make a charitable donation.
The New York Life Foundation is using a donation-per-download model to promote an effort to support children who are coping with the loss of a loved one.
The foundation says it will give $1, up to a total of $175,000, for every download of the PDF of “The Golden Sweater,” a book about a boy who is dealing with the death of his father.
Resources
- A copy of The Golden Sweater is available here.
- An earlier article about New York Life’s childhood grief education efforts is available here.
Downloading the PDF is free for user.
Visitors can also download a free discussion guide that can help parents and others start conversations with children about the book.
The foundation says that donations generated by the PDF downloads will go to eLuna, which runs Camp Erin, a program for children affected by grief or addiction; Comfort Zone Camp, a camp for children affected by the death of a parent, a sibling or a primary caregiver; the National Alliance for Grieving Children; and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
