Top Advice

As we’ve been continually reminding our advisors over the past month, planning matters. There is a real opportunity that has been created out there for advisors to leverage a planning-focused mindset and be proactive with clients.

Reinforce risk tolerance — make sure your clients are aligned with their risk tolerance and risk budget.

If you get this right, you really are allotted all kinds of time. Not to mention, you save your clients a lot of worry and stress during such a volatile time.

Be patient — we see so many clients getting FOMO (fear of missing out) when these bounce-back rallies occur. Explain to them the benefits of staying grounded and how to wait for stabilization.

Biggest Challenge

On a personal level, I really just miss being around my Carson family and feeding off the energy of the office. I enjoy human interaction in small or large groups, so I do what I can to stay connected with my leadership team and others.

I’m using Zoom, hosting weekly, company-wide virtual town hall meetings and doing video calls several times throughout the day to maintain this sense of human connection. It goes a long way, both for me and everyone else!
