The American College Names Head of New Women’s Center

Hilary Fiorella will lead the effort to advance women in financial services through research, education and awareness.

The American College of Financial Services has tapped Hilary Fiorella to be executive director of its new center for women.

The American College State Farm Center for Women and Financial Services aims to be “the first academic center … [focused] on research, education and awareness on the economic issues and financial opportunities facing American women,” according to the organization.

“Hilary brings immense knowledge as a forward-thinking leader in the financial services profession, and her experience and passion will help position The American College … as a celebratory and welcoming hub dedicated to advancing gender diversity,” said President and CEO George Nichols III, in a statement

Fiorella has more than two decades of industry experience. From 2015 to 2019, she served as COO and head of member services for the Money Management Institute (MMI), an advocacy group for assets managers and other investment product makers, broker-dealers and others.

She also led MMI’s next-gen efforts, such as a diversity program to develop awareness and workforce readiness for students of color seeking internships and jobs in financial services.

“I am honored to be leading the Women’s Center … [and]  look forward to working with the faculty, students, engaged alumni and corporate partners … to open up more opportunities for women to become advisors and leaders and ultimately have a greater impact on female consumers and their financial well-being,” Fiorella explained in a statement.

In addition to her work for the MMI, Fiorella served in different roles for technology provider Fiserv Investment Services, including efforts to improve client experience and operational efficiency.

She earned a bachelor’s degree at Temple University and is “yellow belt” certified in Six Sigma, a quality and process-improvement system.
