Raymond James Grabs Morgan Stanley Complex Chief in Florida
The news comes just a month after the BD hired veteran wirehouse branch executive Bill Drew to run its new Southern New England Complex.
Raymond James says it has hired a Florida complex manager from Morgan Stanley to lead its employee channel’s North Florida Complex: Gregg Stupinski.
Prior to moving into branch and regional sales managerial roles for the wirehouse in Southwest Florida in 2006, Stupinski was an advisor with Citigroup-Smith Barney for more than a decade. He started his career in financial services in 1993.
“I was drawn to Raymond James because of the firm’s client-first culture and entrepreneurial spirit,” according to Stupinski. “Those are qualities that resonate among financial advisors and managers alike.”
As complex manager, he will oversee 10 branches of Raymond James & Associates from Pensacola to Jacksonville.
“I am pleased to welcome Gregg, who brings a wealth of knowledge and years of experience, not only as a financial advisor, but also an accomplished complex manager,” explained Patrick O’Connor, Florida regional director for RJA, in a statement. “We look forward to his leadership as we continue to serve advisors and expand our presence across North Florida.”
The news comes about a month after Raymond James hired veteran Morgan Stanley branch executive Bill Drew to run its new Southern New England Complex for employee advisors.
Drew, who spent the past 24 years with Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney, was put in charge of Raymond James & Associates’ branch offices in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Northern Connecticut.
Raymond James has a total of 7,815 independent and employee advisors, up two from the prior quarter and 278 from a year earlier. The number of indie advisors stands at 4,679 in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom.
