Asset Managers of the Year Named by Envestnet, Investment Advisor

Winners in different asset classes were recognized for their outpeformance and consistency.

Envestnet and Investment Advisor presented the 2018 Asset Manager Awards to the winning strategy groups late Wednesday at the Envestnet | PMC Advisor Summit 2018, which is taking place this week in New Orleans with over 2,000 attendees.

The awards were presented to the top active managers in several categories, including U.S. Large-Cap Equity, U.S. Small- and Mid-Cap Equity, International/Global Universe, Fixed Income, Impact and Strategist, along with the overall Manager of the Year Award winner.

“Once again we’re proud to be working with our partner Investment Advisor to present these awards,” said Tim Clift, chief investment strategist of Envestnet | PMC, at the start of the presentation. “Now in its 14th year, the Asset Managers of the Year competition recognizes best-in-class portfolio managers who outperform their peers, which is difficult even in the best of environments.”

Eligibility for these coveted awards, Clift explained, “requires a management team with at least three years of experience running a strategy with $200 million or more in assets, and the strategy must be available to advisors on our platform.”

The name of the awards, previously known as the Separately Managed Account Manager and Strategist of the Year Awards, was changed this year to better reflect the scope of the asset management industry and allow for the inclusion of more categories.

Also at the conference, Envestnet named the winners of its second annual Essential Advisor Awards, which recognize professionals who embody values detailed in the book “The Essential Advisor,” co-authored by Envestnet President Bill Crager.

In addition, the new Envestnet Institute on Campus Vision Awards, which honor individuals and firms who serve as agents of change for the future of the wealth management industry, went to:
