Jeffrey Hurd to Lead AXA Equitable Operations

Jeffrey Hurd will be taking over as the chief operating officer at AXA Equitable Life Insurance April 1, according to AXA Equitable.

Hurd has been working for American International Group Inc., in a series of positions, since 1998.

In addition to serving as AIG’s chief operating officer, Hurd has been AIG’s deputy general counsel, chief administrative officer, head of asset management restructuring, and chief human resources officer.

Hurd has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Union College and a law degree from New York University. He worked as an associate for Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, a law firm, in 1993. He also spent a year working for a law in Tokyo. 

AXA Equitable that a number of other company executives will report to him. One is Adrienne Johnson, the company’s chief transformation officer.
