Brokers helped 29 percent of the people who signed up for private coverage through Washington state’s exchange during open enrollment.
The brokers advised 42,183 of the 146,497 people who enrolled in coverage through the Healthplanfinder, according to a board presentation handout prepared by Catherine Bailey, an exchange employee.
The brokers also helped 28,848 people enroll in Medicaid through the exchange, but that accounted for just 7 percent of the 403,852 people who used it to sign up for Medicaid.
The state now has 2,155 exchange plan producers, and 1,368 are actively enrolling participants, Bailey said.
