Both Prudential and MetLife experienced a jump in stock price after Barclays analyst Jay Gelb released a research note upgrading MetLife and Prudential from “equalweight” to “overweight.” Gelb feels that rising interest rates and the overall convalescing economy bodes well for large life insurers.
