Male sex hormones ‘drive breast cancer’

A research team at the University of Colorado has found that many breast cancers possess androgen receptors on their surface which enable male hormones, such as testosterone, to fuel their growth.  Scientists were already aware that cancers grow under the influence of female hormones. A series of clinical tests are planned.
