This week in new hires, FINRA added three new governors; Erwin Eichmann joined TheStreet as general counsel; Putnam Investments named Darren Jaroch portfolio manager of another fund; and Michael Hutten went back to Hatteras.
Also, Kelley Howes and Brian Neil Hoffman joined Morrison & Foerster; MassMutual Retirement Services added three; and Janelle Walter was promoted at Allianz Life.
FINRA Elects Three New Governors
FINRA announced Monday that it has elected three new governors at its annual meeting who will begin their three-year terms immediately. They are Seth Waugh, CEO of Deutsche Bank Americas, who represents the organization’s large firms; W. Dennis Ferguson, executive vice president and director of Clearing, Sterne, Agee & Leach, who represents midsize firms; and Kevin Carreno, general counsel for International Assets Advisory, who represents small firms.
The organization also said that it had reappointed three governors to its board; two are public members. Mark Casady, chairman and CEO of LPL Financial, was reappointed as the independent dealer and insurance affiliate representative, while Richard Pechter, a retiree, and Joel Seligman, president of the University of Rochester, were reappointed as the public members.
Erwin Eichmann Joins TheStreet as General Counsel
TheStreet announced Monday that Erwin Eichmann has joined as general counsel. An expert in business development and legal advice, Eichmann has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry.
Eichmann recently held the position of chief operating officer, IT sourcing and executive director at Morgan Stanley, where he worked for 11 years negotiating deals for global wealth management, technology and operations. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Eichmann held positions at CNBC.com as vice president of corporate development and NBC Television as principal legal counsel for NBC’s interactive media group. Earlier in his career, he worked in the M&A group at Shearman & Sterling. Putnam Investments Names Darren Jaroch Portfolio Manager
Putnam Investments on Friday named Darren A. Jaroch portfolio manager of the Putnam Equity Income Fund (PEYAX), replacing Bartlett R. Geer, who will be leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.
Jaroch, with Putnam since 1999, has been a longtime portfolio manager of the Putnam International Value Fund (PNGAX), and will continue to manage this fund, as well as his existing international and global institutional portfolios. He previously managed the Putnam Global Equity Fund.
Michael Hutten Rejoins Hatteras as Executive Director
Hatteras Funds recently announced that Michael Hutten has returned to the firm as executive director. In this role, he will lead sales initiatives in the western U.S. region, focusing on business development and client relations, serving investment consultants, RIAs and broker-dealers.
