Research suggests one of the most effective ways to enhance creativity is to interact, talk and share your work with colleagues and friends. Psychologist Kevin Dunbar studied for microbiology laboratories for how new theories are developed and found that a majority of insights and discoveries occurred during regular lab meetings where latest findings were revealed and difficult setbacks shared. Dunbar also found that speaking in analogies and team diversity made it easier for breakthroughs to occur. The research implies that breaking out of the mindset of the lone creative in favor of regularly connecting and sharing work, setbacks and insights can amplify creativity.
