Judy Goss was over 40 years old and had been laid off twice in six months before she decided to start her own business called Over 40 Females. “Now, I’m helping our members get press for their businesses, find jobs, grant a scholarship, and so much more with everything that I have utilized from my experience in corporate life,” Goss said of getting laid off. For women who find themselves laid off, Goss says to take no more than two weeks to cry, get mad and feel sorry for yourself. After the grieving period, make a list of what you’ve always wanted to do. Pick one thing from the list and research it. Then, tap into resources on the Internet to make connections, get advice, make friends and find others in the same situation.
