Traveling is the daydream retirement activity that might be harder to come by now on the heels of a recession. Ruth Rosenfeld rented out her Colorado home while she worked as a technology coordinator in Guatemala. After Rosenfeld’s contract was up, she got her certification to teach English and taught in Prague and Japan. After eight years living out of the country, Rosenfeld returned to the states and was able to pay off her home.
