On April 16, Chad Parks, CEO and founder of The Online 401(k), and his team set out on a six-week road trip to shoot a documentary about Americans’ broken retirement dreams and 401(k) miscues titled “Broken Eggs: The Looming Retirement Crisis in America.” The film’s tagline: Because you can’t live on a gold watch. The team will conduct interviews at each stop on its zigzag drive from California to New York. Park’s goals for the trip and film are to probe the American mind for solutions to the country’s retirement problem and to raise awareness about the urgency of the trouble. “Somebody needs to sound the alarm,” Parks said. “Ten thousand baby boomers are expected to retire every day for the next 20 years.”
