U.S. life insurers researched more requests for individual coverage in July than they did in July 2010.
The MIB Group Inc., Braintree, Mass., has published new life activity data in an analysis of U.S. life insurers’ use of MIB databases to check individually underwritten life applications.
Overall U.S. activity volume increased 2.1% in July. Activity volume increased 0.2% for applicants ages 0 to 44, 1.4% for applicants ages 45 to 59, and 9.3% for applicants ages 60 and older.
In June, overall MIB application research activity was just 0.1% higher than in June 2010.
Activity for consumers ages 45 to 59 is still down 0.4% for the year to date, but growth in activity for older applicants has been strong, MIB says.
