An ACORD working group will be discussing progress on straight-through processing (STP) standards for long term care (LTC) insurance applications at a conference in Atlanta.

The working group from ACORD, Pearl River, N.Y., will make a presentation March 9 in Atlanta, at an LTC insurance conference organized by the Society of Actuaries, Schaumburg, Ill.

ACORD sets technology standards for the insurance industry, including STP standards aimed at allowing insurance application and payment processes to be conducted electronically, without the need for manual intervention.

The working group will also look at other ACORD efforts to standardize LTC insurer operating procedures.

Sandra Latham, the chair of the ACORD LTC working group, will preside over the meeting.
